Student Travel Grants
We are very pleased to let you know that IEEE SmartGridComm 2017 provides Student Travel Grants (STGs) to broaden the participation of student authors. A limited number of STG awards of $ 500 are available. The awards are sponsored by IEEE ComSoc for students worldwide to attend IEEE SmartGridComm 2017 in Dresden, Germany. Starting 01 August, IEEE SmartGridComm 2017 will accept applications for STG awards.
 
Eligibility Requirements of STG

1. The applicant may be of any nationality and must be a co-author of an accepted paper in IEEE SmartGridComm 2017.
2. The applicant must be a full-time student registered towards a Bachelor, Master or Ph.D. degree in computer science, engineering or related field in a college or university when submitting the application. 
3. The applicant must be a Student Member of IEEE ComSoc when submitting the application. 
4. The applicant must not have received an IEEE ComSoc STG in the last 12-month period when submitting the application and must not have received any other grants for attending the conference. 
5. During the expense reimbursement stage, the student applicant must show proof of having registered to attend the conference. 

A student who is awarded a STG must register, attend the conference and present the paper. Payment will only be made to the awardee if the required expense report (with receipts) is submitted within 45 days after the conference. Details about the reimbursement process will be provided to the STG recipients. 
 
How to Apply

The STG application should be submitted electronically via EDAS (direct link here). The application must include the following materials:

1. A reference letter from your advisor. 
2. Your up-to-date resume including your citizenship (required), ethnicity and gender (optional, used to broaden the participation of under-represented students). 
3. A half-to-one page letter to state the purpose of attending the conference.

• Application deadline: 1 September 2017 (11:59 pm)
• Notification of acceptance: 21 September 2017
